The first time I stepped foot onto the exposed western edge of British Columbia, I fell in love.  Each tree, unique and beautiful, stood ragged and tattered against the unending wind.  It was a place that seemed wild and unbound, I was immediately captivated! 

I have spent most of my adult life living and working on the coast and in the mountains of British Columbia, as a guide, educator, manager and designer, always with camera in hand.

The majority of my images are from the temperate rainforests on Canada’s western edge, where the towering Coast Mountains meet the vast Pacific Ocean.  Here a twisted combination of islands, inlets and waterways are host to a thriving ecosystem.  These deep fjords, estuaries and protected waterways are home to wildlife unmatched anywhere on the planet.  I have had the pleasure of exploring these pristine wilderness areas and over the past 25 years have witnessed the return of humpback and fin whales to their historic cold water feeding grounds in the great bear rainforest, in ever greater numbers.
