Gitga'at People - In the heart of the Great Bear Rainforst live the Gitiga'at people, who call the village of Hartley Bay home. Just as their ancestors have done for thousands of years they visit their spring camp of Kiel during the month of May to harvest foods such as seaweed and halibit. Great Bear Rainforest - The Great Bear Rainforest is the name given to a region of the temperate rain forest located on the coast of British Columbia, from Vancouver Island north to the border with the US state of Alaska. This largely untouched wilderness is home to unique spirit bear and many other creatures.
Icy Strait Alaska - In the southeast corner of Alaska this marine waterway is the end of a yearly migration of one of the earths largest mammals, the humpback whale, who come by the thousands to feed on the abundance of bait fish that lives in this icy cold water.
British Columbia - The pacific province of British Columbia is comprised of an amazing array of landscapes from the coastal mountain ranges and fjords filled with vast tracks of temperate rainforest to the interior grasslands which are dotted with lakes and rivers.
Clayoquot Sound - Clayoquot Sound is located on the west coast of Vancouver Island.This body of water is comprised many inlets, islands, valleys and its waterways are home to a rich diversity of marine mammals and inter tidal life. In it's forests stand some of the largest old growth trees on the planet.
Sea To Sky - The Sea-to-Sky region stretches from Horseshoe Bay through Whistler to the Pemberton Valley. The rugged mountains surrounding this corridor are an adventurers mecca, where skiers, hikers, climbers and bikers come from all over the planet to play.
Patagonia - Patagonia is a geographic region at the southern tip of South America. The spectacular Andes divide the western temperate rainforest from the eastern pampas grasslands. Deep glaciers have carved this remarkable landscape and still cover much of the mountainous terrain today.
