About Jenn Dickie's Photography

Jenn began taking photographs as a child and it quickly grew into a passion. She took her first photography course at Camosun College in Victoria, was an attempt to learn to better capture the beautiful places she had begun to visit. Later while living in the UK, she took additional courses, in design and composition, lighting, printing, stills, and more. The architecture and scenery of Oxford lent well to black and white and for years she focused her energies on black and white images. Upon returning to Canada she worked in professional dark rooms, then later as quality control for large scale media.

In 2000 Jenn began working as an wilderness guide on the west coast of British Columbia and her attention switched to nature and wildlife photography, while her equipment switched to digital and computer technologies. She has now worked as the photographer, web and media designer for a number of adventurous people and businesses, as well as photographed many weddings, children and familes.

Capturing wild places, creatures, and life's special moments is Jenn's speciality and what she is most passionate about. Recent trips include Arktos Expedition, an ocean kayaking expedition to film the wilderness of South East Alaska and a personal trip to photograph and explore Patagonia, the southern tip of South America, including Chile and Argentina.
